Basic Information about Vet Care and Housing Our Dogs

At Canisolida Mastiffs Foster and Retirement Home, Inc.:

- All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested/placed on prevention (dogs are HW treated if positive and placed on prevention medicine once determined negative), and are provided with veterinary care for other medical issues the dog may need while in our care.

- We seek sponsors for dogs with special and expensive medical needs.

- All of our dogs are housed in loving, indoor environments with family members. We do not pen or tie out dogs. We do not have a lot of dogs available for adoption because we do not want to get overrun with dogs we cannot provide quality care for.

- We have high standards for how our dogs are to be treated while in our care. Our foster and adoptive homes must reflect this standard of care.

- We STRONGLY believe in positive, minimal-stress training techniques and we enlist the help of the trainers at North East Dog Training, LLC, when the need arises with any of our dogs. We have a huge amount of LOVE to give our dogs, but when it comes to training, we want to do it right for the dog (because the dog is most important here, not ego!) and so we enlist the help of the expert and compassionate dog trainers (James Nutter, Julie Nutter, and Jessica Nutter) at North East Dog Training, LLC.

- We do more behind-the-scenes work than you would imagine, and are able to help a lot of dogs in need that will never even make it onto the pages of our web site.
