UPDATE: Conner is receiving training and is proving to be a very willing and intelligent student. Thus far, he has had 4 training sessions and has learned sit, down, release, and is making progress on walk on leash. He is a VERY intelligent dog and could make a wonderful obedience partner if you enjoy taking your dog to class!

Conner is a handsome young neutered male Golden Retriever mix in need of an indoor experienced adult home.

Being up to date on his vet care, weighing around 100 pounds, and at an age of around 11 months, Conner is ready for the love, companionship, and positive leadership that will lead him to a long life as the cherished pet of capable and responsible dog owners.

Conner has endured some negative experiences from neighborhood children behaving in a manner that has caused him anxiety; for this reason we suggest he be adopted into an experienced adult home who can provide responsible leadership to both Conner and children when there is to be an encounter of dog-with-kids.

Conner requires a new home who will welcome him into the house; currently due to emergency circumstances, Conner has had to be resituated to the outdoor back area of the home. Conner DOES have experience in the house and is housetrained and enjoys cuddling on the couch.

Conner is playful and rambunctious both in and out of the house and can "bowl you over" in a mindless state of puppy-playing-rapture. You need the proper space and yard to provide both structured and unstructured play opportunities for him. Conner is curious and intelligent and your devoted work with him building his skills and confidence will be key to enriching his life and making your bond together be very strong.

Conner shows that he enjoys yummy goodies and this can be used to help him attain good doggie manners. Conner will need some work on walking on the leash and good yummy treats can help him to walk with you on the leash.

Conner's canine mother was a purebred Golden Retriever. It is unknown what Conner's canine father looks like. Conner was purchased from Amish breeders as a baby puppy.

Conner can be shy, somewhat reactive, and somewhat skittish with new people at first and his new owners can work on confidence building for him, as well as explaining to the new people he meets a way to approach him at first. He is a dog that it will take time to freely interact with him, so understand that you and your core group of friends, family, and aquaintances all must be on board with the best ways to make Conner feel relaxed and safe around everyone.

Most of all, I have evaluated and interacted with Conner and I find him to be a delightful young handsome dog who deserves the best of owners to give him a good life - the life he deserves very much!
